During the dialogue, the sides exchanged views on the ongoing labor reforms in Uzbekistan and efforts to improve labor legislation based on the latest ILO recommendations.
B. Andres emphasized the firm policy of the state to reduce poverty and create decent working conditions for citizens.
The appointment of Yuri Shterk as Senior Coordinator and the initiative to open an ILO country office in Uzbekistan are also recognized as an important step towards strengthening long-term cooperation.
During the conversation, issues of developing a Decent Work Country Program for 2026-2030, as well as expanding cooperation in the field of professional development of employers, trade unions and labor inspection specialists were also discussed.
