Silk Avia airline performed its first demonstration flight

    On April 24, Silk Avia performed its first landmark demonstration flight on board an ATR 72-600 aircraft on the Tashkent - Samarkand -Tashkent route.

    The first flight with passengers was preceded by a solemn opening ceremony of the airline - tomorrow the airline will start operating regular flights. The ceremony, which took place in the terminal of local airlines, was opened by the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airports Rano Jurayeva.

    "The regional airline is a key gear in a large mechanism for the development of not only the network of airports in Uzbekistan, but also the development of tourism and business activity stimulation. This is an important little detail that allows the huge machine to move. It assumes the functions of connecting regions, delivering passengers from point A to point B on time, quickly and inexpensively. This is the so-called air route, which flies, for example, from Tashkent to Urgench, stopping in Samarkand or Bukhara on the way, leaving and picking up passengers. We have created an airline connecting Uzbekistan, making distances shorter and people closer," the head of Uzbekistan Airports noted.

    The opening ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Natural Resources of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Jasur Choriev. The guests noted the importance of opening the first regional airline for the development of domestic tourism and stimulating the economy of Uzbekistan, as well as creating competition in the rapidly developing aviation market of the country. Abdulla Abdukadyrov, First Deputy Director General of the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President, Tohir Nazarov, Director of the Civil Aviation Agency, Francois Savier, Economic Adviser to the French Ambassador to Uzbekistan, and Dimitri Bursi, representative of the ATR concern, also came to congratulate the airline on its opening.

    The congratulations of the officials were continued by the artists of the national stage - Abdukhashim Ismailov, Zulaykho Boykhonova, Nasiba Abdullayeva, Sevara Nazarkhan and Farrukh Zakirov. The hits of honored and folk artists dedicated to the pearl cities and Uzbekistan were played at the Tashkent airport. After the ceremony, guests and media representatives boarded the demonstration flight US-131 on the Tashkent -Samarkand route.

    Upon arrival in Samarkand, the aircraft was traditionally greeted with a water arch, and the crew with flowers to the sounds of karnaya and surnaya. A festive pilaf was waiting for the guests at the terminal. After a hospitable reception, the passengers of the demonstration flight took off on the US-132 flight to Tashkent.

    noting that Silk Avia airline received an operator's certificate on April 20 and performed technical flights for the commissioning of airline crews by ATR instructors for four days.
