More chess tournaments will be held in Uzbekistan

    In recent years, thanks to the development of sports in our country, Uzbek athletes have achieved great success at international competitions.

    The national team of our country became the winner of the 44th World Chess Olympiad, held in India from July 28 to August 10, 2022. At the Tata Steel Chess-2023 super tournament recently held in the Netherlands, our compatriots Nodirbek Abdusattarov took second place in the masters group, and Javokhir Sindorov took third place in the challengers group. All our grandmasters demonstrate the potential of Uzbek chess to the whole world by their successful participation in prestigious competitions. Thanks to such victories, the interest of foreigners in our country increases.

    In accordance with the Presidential decree "On additional measures for further popularization and development of chess" dated August 5, 2022, this year our country will host chess tournaments "Castling", "Nuroniy", "Cheksiz imkon", "Uzbekistan chess open", "Women's Chess Championship", dedicated to the International Women's day. Since this year, competitions will traditionally be held in different regions of Uzbekistan.

    The events will serve to develop sports tourism in our country, create conditions for organizing meaningful leisure for tourists, further promote the tourism potential of the regions and popularize national sports games.
