Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey is developing

    On September 4, 2024, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov received Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Nuh Yilmaz, who arrived in Tashkent.

    The parties discussed topical issues of dynamically developing Uzbek-Turkish relations, the implementation of joint programs, prospects for intensifying political dialogue, trade and investment ties, cultural, humanitarian and tourist exchanges.

    Also, under the chairmanship of the Deputy Foreign Ministers of the two countries, a regular round of political consultations was held between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Turkey with the participation of relevant ministries and departments.

    Special attention is paid to the practical implementation of the agreements reached within the framework of the 3rd meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council at the highest level, held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Presidents of the two states in June 2024.

    The importance of further expanding the contractual and legal framework of relations, taking into account the developing ties in all directions, was noted.

    Issues of strengthening cooperation within multilateral structures, primarily the United Nations and the Organization of Turkic States, were discussed, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan reports.
