As part of their stay in Astana, the leaders of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan held a meeting in a contracted format and the first meeting of the Supreme Interstate Council. A solid package of bilateral documents was adopted, and a ceremony for launching joint projects was held.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, solemnly presented the President of Uzbekistan with the highest state award of his country – the “Altyn Qyran” (“Golden Eagle”) Order for an exceptional contribution to strengthening friendship between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The leaders participated in the opening ceremony of the Monument to the great poet and thinker Alisher Navoi in the capital of Kazakhstan.
Today, the President of Uzbekistan took part in the sixth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and outlined priority areas for further strengthening regional interaction.
A solemn ceremony was held to present Shavkat Mirziyoyev with the Honorary Badge of the Heads of State of the Central Asian Countries for outstanding achievements in promoting friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual understanding in the region.
On the sidelines of the summit, a meeting was held with the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, at which issues of further strengthening bilateral friendship, good-neighborliness, and strategic partnership were discussed.
Following the visit, the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov saw off the distinguished guest at the Astana International Airport. The President of Uzbekistan departed for Tashkent.
