Kazakhstan transferred AZAL black box data to Russia and Azerbaijan

    Astana handed over to Moscow and Baku the decrypted data of the black boxes of the AZAL aircraft, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister, head of the air crash investigation commission Kanat Bozumbayev said, his words were quoted by the Kazinform agency.

    "They have been decrypted (the data of the black boxes), returned to Kazakhstan, and are in the investigation group under the auspices of the Prosecutor General's Office. All the experts are working on them. Now both the Azerbaijani side and the Russian side have copies of these boxes. We have nothing to hide," he said.

    The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that the decryption of the black boxes published on the Internet differs from the original.

    A preliminary report on the shipwreck may be published next week, Bozumbayev added.

    The Embraer 190 aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed on the morning of December 25 near the city of Aktau in western Kazakhstan. There were five crew members and 62 passengers on board, including 16 Russians, including an 11-year—old girl, 37 Azerbaijani citizens, six from Kazakhstan, and three from Kyrgyzstan.
